Correct operation of the sound switch system
The general sound system consists of multiple independent sound units such as tuner, bracket, equalizer, LD player, VCD player, AV amplifier, etc. All these units must be inserted into the 220V power plug board. Some people unplug the plug and turn off the power when shutting down in order to save trouble. When starting up, plug in the plug and all the power will be turned on. This method is not bothered, but it is dangerous, since this operation will produce inrush current and reverse peak voltage, audio equipment is often damaged by these two impacts. The damage of some machines is not the usual action state, but occurs at the moment when the power is turned on or off.
Surge current: an audio equipment is all composed of resistors, capacitors, inductors, transformers and other components. It is very cold before starting up. When powering on, due to the small resistance value and large instantaneous current, it is 2.5-3.5 times the normal working current. The current is called surge current, which sometimes causes damage to the circuit.
Inverse peak voltage: when the inductance element, transformer and other units have the characteristics that when the voltage is connected or removed in the circuit, the unit will generate back electromotive force to prevent the voltage from changing. then, when the power supply is connected and the voltage is applied to the inductance element, back electromotive force will be generated to prevent the voltage from being established. however, since the energy source of the power supply voltage is continuously supplied, the back electromotive force only plays the role of voltage damping, it has little effect on the circuit, but the situation is different when it is turned off.
When shutting down, even if the circuit has back electromotive force, there is no resistance. The voltage is the reverse peak voltage, which is 9 times of the normal voltage. Its current is small, but the voltage is high, which will impact the equipment. Therefore, when the surge current and reverse peak voltage of each audio unit act on the audio equipment at the same time, it will be greatly impacted and easily damage the equipment. Therefore, each audio unit turns on the power supply one by one, then turns off the power supply. The correct starting sequence is to start according to the flow direction of the audio source signal. Turn on the chuck, CD player, LD player or VCD player, tuner and equalizer in turn, and turn on the power amplifier. The correct sequence of turning off the power supply is to turn off the amplifier and then turn off other equipment.
Now, in order to facilitate use, foreign countries have invented a delayed power latch board. One set of jacks is a direct switch jack. The two sets of sockets can be delayed for 1s (second) when the machine on this road is powered on. The third set of sockets can be delayed for 2s (seconds) when the machine on this road is powered on. When the machine on this road is powered on, the power supply can be delayed for 3 seconds.
The same is true when shutting down the power supply at different time periods, which can prevent the inrush current and reverse peak voltage from acting on all equipment at the same time and damaging the audio equipment.
